Whales to defend !

Is it the enormous fish who eats humanity ?

In 2021 again, it is humans who threaten the whale.

How to save the whales ?

 – Understand the whale.

 – Stop eating animals.

 – Limit plastic pollution.

 – Fight, engage against hunting, fishing.

Whales play fundamental roles in the balance of our planet.

Whales capture a very large part of CO2.

The protection of whales is an important cause for all environmentalists.

Marine mammals must be protected.

Does a swimming whale have a more positive activity for our environment than a human being ?

Is it the enormous fish who eats humanity ?

Despite its size, the whale is not a danger to humans, other marine mammals show little aggression towards humanity. The will to impose its law, a pride of man against nature, is an important reason for the stalking, the hunting of these friendly animals. Whatever its crime, does an animal deserve the death penalty ?

In 2021 again, it is humans who threaten the whale.

Who hunt whales and marine mammals ?

Norway,
Iceland,
The Faroe Islands in Denmark,
Japan,
Peru,
Russia.

How to save the whales ?

History of whaling.

To understand the problem and its real stakes, let's go back to the recent history of this killing and its consequences.

Understand the whale.

People have been tracking whales to eat them for a long time, especially those countries that are close to a place where whales and marine mammals migrate at regular intervals. The countries of today which refuse to stop this practice, oppose their traditions and their historical habits of consumption, almost religious.

The history of art and the whale.

Portrayals of whales in classical art are often illustrations of hunting, unfortunately. Nevertheless there are some paintings representing hunting incidents like the two below :

The catastrophic consequences of fishing and industrial whaling in the nineteenth and twentieth century. The whale is no longer just food, it becomes a source of energy, it is with its oil that the large emerging industrial metropolises are illuminated. The table below shows the illumination of whale oil.

The price of whales increases and fishing and hunting increases, whale populations will decrease significantly. The first war between Russia and Japan, in 1904 and 1905, was also a struggle to seize whaling territory.

The second world War is catastrophic for these marine mammals, several species are threatened with extinction. The international community becomes aware of the problem and an agreement is reached between a large majority of countries.
Protection zones are created. These different actions have a positive effect, the whales see their number increase over the years.

Stop eating animals.

This is the first thing one can do as a citizen of the world. The simplest and most effective long-term gesture to help whales and animals and limit our pollution. It is not about imposing a diet, but understanding and accepting that another way of eating is essential to improve our relationship with our environment. Make the effort you can, at your own pace. Understanding the problem is an absolute necessity for changing eating habits. A plant-based diet is a sustainable solution to solve part of our ecological problems. Each person has a part of the solution in themselves . We must be the generation of change.

What is the relationship between eating animals and the plight of whales ?

Whales are animals, mammals. Pollution from farms ends up in the oceans, and disturbs whales. Fishing and its nets, in particular, injure and kill large numbers of whales.

Not eating meat or fish is already working for the environment. It’s concrete.

Limit plastic pollution.

It’s not the easiest, as our overconsumption habits are so present, but it is already relatively easy not to buy plastic bottles. Rather glass bottles to reuse, for example. Avoid consuming too many over-packaged products. Some products have cardboard packaging over plastic packaging, which is unnecessary waste. Buy products in bulk instead of those in extra thick plastic bags. Sort waste. Limit your motorized trips.

All these daily acts are quite difficult because they require great vigilance in places of consumption. This is also why it is best to shop at merchants who share these ecological concerns with you. These daily efforts are very important and effective in improving our ecological performance.

Fight, engage against hunting, fishing.

What is true for the whale is unfortunately also true for other animals. Hunting and fishing practices for a very long time, but particularly since the 19th century, have exterminated animal species. Animals that we will never be able to see and understand again. Hunting cannot feed all of humanity. Hunting and fishing disrupt ecosystems, which cannot regulate themselves or with greater difficulty. For humans, hunting is an activity that hinders the individual freedom to be able to move around nature safely without the risk of receiving a stray bullet.

Hunting and fishing are polluting and messy activities for their ecosystems, for their environments, for the environment, for nature. How to help hunters, fishermen and poachers become endangered activities ?

 – Do not eat animals, nor consume products of animal origin.
 – Go into the wild, oppose hunters.
 – Do not vote for those who support the hunting and fishing lobby.
 – Do not go to parks, zoos, pet shops, aquariums which exploit animals and which maintain hunting, fishing and wild animal capture practices.
 – Do not eat in restaurants that sell game from the hunt.
 – Avoid restaurants that sell fish.

Restaurants have a very big responsibility in the ecological problem which concerns animals.

Indeed, by giving an income to the hunter, he contributes greatly to the systematic destruction of wildlife. This is true in western countries, it is even worse in less wealthy countries. Rarer animals are sought out and killed because restaurateurs pay more for these animals. The same goes for fishing, very rare fish are caught and sold at a very high price, to whom ?
To people who go to eat them, mainly in restaurants, with wealthy customers. And this market seriously feeds the poaching problem. At sea or on land, restaurants are the main and final point of sale for wild animals.
It is up to consumers to be vigilant, to firmly oppose these practices, abroad or at home, and to share with others these restaurants that sponsor the poaching, hunting or professional fishing of wild animals.
The market is also a place of sale of wild animals, fish. It is also a place where the consumer must oppose these practices when they see them.

Hunting or fishing, even recreational or very light, disrupts the food chain. By taking gazelles, hunters starve the lioness, etc. Each act has a multitude of consequences, as animals are linked to each other in their eating habits.

Fighting for animal welfare, being vegan, plant-based or anti-speciesist is extremist behavior ?

Of course not ! This behavior or these philosophies, these lifestyles or these regimes are attitudes of prevention of problems, just like ayurvedic medicine. Prevention is not easily measured, but those who persevere and use this vocabulary, extremists, against those who defend animals, certainly have a lot to be ashamed of. Rather, an extremist attitude is to feed meat to herbivorous animals. And what are the consequences of this extremism? The appearance of serious diseases. The case of the “mad cow” disease is an obvious example.

It is up to us to think about animals, it is our responsibility as humans to protect animals and especially wild animals.

Whales play fundamental roles in the balance of our planet.

It is very interesting to ask the question of the role of an animal within an ecosystem and in relation to our planet in general. Some insects have an activity in symbiosis with plants, and allow pollination. It is therefore logical to think that each animal has one or more functions in the ecosystem to which it belongs. If we are tempted to think that no, that some animals are not useful, there is the food chain, where each animal feeds on another for its livelihood. This is especially the case with carnivores, for example. It is sometimes difficult to say or define the role of an animal in its environment, because it is a very complex question.

In any case, without having to think that a whale is more important than an insect, we can understand that the physical activity of these animals is exceptional. Let the whale cover half of the earth's surface in its migrations, exchange sensory information with different environments. It descends to the depths and rises to the surface, creating a communication between very distant places. The insect, on its own scale, also has the same communication relationship and creates an essential exchange with its environment. It is obvious that when we break the food chain by taking animals, we destroy these relays, these necessary, important activities, between environments.

A swimming whale has more impact on its environment than a human swimming ?

What is certain is that a man cannot do what a whale does. We have different roles, activities corresponding to our bodies, to our capacities.

Whales take up a very large amount of carbon dioxide.

“A man is not a tree, but is a whale a tree ?”

Among recent research, there is evidence that whale activity can sequester carbon dioxide, the whale is therefore a very practical animal because it allows us to absorb what we reject through the mouth to do something else, transform it and share it in the low-depth environments of the seas and oceans.

Why would you want to build factories to trap carbon dioxide, when all you need to do is let the animals grow in peace to solve part of a problem ?

Norwegians kill more than a thousand whales a year ! A considerable environmental problem in view of the role of whales in capturing carbon dioxide.

Understanding that the whale is the largest mammal on earth and that it is capable of helping to capture what we humans, animals throw into the atmosphere and which also makes us sick, proves the role and the symbiosis that exists between species, even if at first glance, this role was not obvious or distant, strength and noted by this example that things are complex and linked to each other even when they are separated by thousands of miles or kilometers, and oceans.

The whale is therefore a preventive medicine for humans and animals that produce carbon dioxide ! In the current state of human knowledge, whales have a complementary role to animals, but it is not forbidden to think that marine mammals have other functions of which we have not understood the ins and outs.

Knowledge of “today” is pale compared to that of “tomorrow”, ridiculous compared to that of “the day after tomorrow” and that is a good thing.

If I preferred to write you the role of whales and carbon dioxide without scientific references, it is to leave you the pleasure of discovering it in the article :

Role of the whale in capturing carbon dioxide. French Wikipedia.

The protection of whales is an important cause for all environmentalists.

Living without animal suffering means letting animals and plants play their roles. It is to have an attitude of prevention of problems, it is to take care in advance in order to avoid unnecessary pain. Human health is not the goal of those who defend the environment, it is a happy consequence of ecological efforts.

Of course, preventing misfortune from happening is not very visible, not very glorious, but it is the responsible attitude of those who wish to live together and in peace. It is difficult to judge the importance of another person's work or activity. Some religions reward non-activity as a mark of holiness, because it is possible to be useful for our environment by being in a posture of non-acting.

Defending our environment means enhancing the common heritage that we share. In particular, protecting the whale and marine mammals is understanding that we live on a planet where people are together and that everyone is important. Defend the greatest, and the smallest. Any sincere person must put himself in the place of the prophet Jonah, and return to the belly of the whale, to be reborn free from bad influences.

I understand that it is difficult to give up the social and material comfort offered by food from fishing, but it is not possible to continue in this direction, the damage caused by this activity is too great. If the whales disappeared ? We will create factories to capture carbon dioxide ? Who will they also pollute ? And if there weren't enough fish for the whole population, how would we do ?

Let’s be insightful, let’s avoid the worst, save the best. Let us know how to deprive ourselves today, to leave our children a harmonious world full of living animals, happy together.

Let’s educate our children to eat vegetables.

Everyone has their role to play, every human being must face up to their responsibilities and act by taking courageous decisions to reduce animal suffering and the pollution caused by their consumer behavior. States, or associations are not going to do everything, it is also up to families to do what is necessary for the future.

Marine mammals must be protected.

Why especially marine mammals ?

Because from the point of view of those who place humans above other species, also called speciesist, marine mammals are the strongest, fastest, most intelligent species on our planet. So it is they that these self-proclaimed superior people choose to express their ridiculous manhood by going after them, the whales, first. On the pretext of tradition or scientific research.

Aquariums, zoos, aviaries, animal parks or aquatic animal parks are examples of the speciesist's desire to constrain the animal, to impose limits, a rhythm of life and obligations. In short, fascism for fish, mammals and animals. The cartoonish example of the horror of the colonizing or domineering will of human beings. The animal must obey man and woman, it becomes an attraction, a slave, a product in the unbearable French civil code.

Some people claim that to release these animals is to condemn them to death. But how to break the chain ? Stop the horror. To stop putting other animals in the same system and feed those who fish or hunt these animals. Take our responsibilities and act.

It is best to free the animals, even knowing that they will not survive, that they have a low chance of living a happy fate. In any case, like this, the animals start again in the cycle of nature, wild and are no longer in the cycle of enslavement.

The problem of poaching.

In two thousand and twenty-one the whale is no longer used as a desk lamp or lighting for our cities, but it retains too high a market value. Which promotes poaching. Ambergris is the reason that drives up the price of whales. It would be possible to find it in their stomachs sometimes. But it is the implausible attitude of the multi-billionaire, the emirs, that increases the value of the animal, because they are the ones who buy the carcasses of the whales. In fact, resulting in poachers in this market. These same emirs build swimming pools to collect dolphins, killer whales, etc. Whether they buy from parks that are closing or other vendors. This is the example of someone who believes himself to be above others and who wants a powerful, intelligent animal for his service, in his swimming pool. The height of the speciesist. The Japanese hunt whales, but they are also known to capture dolphins and sell them, other countries also emulate these practices.

Consumers, multibillionaires or clients of an animal water park, zoo or wildlife market end up jointly responsible for poaching practices and the extermination of animal species.

Marine mammals, a vast subject, which even now affects the internet economy !

Are “bitcoin whales” a danger to these mammals ?

It is no coincidence that the very wealthy people behind these glowing nicknames chose the whale. But this remains proof that the dictatorship of those who believe themselves superior is taking hold in the internet and its economy. Who are the richest ? Whales. This is how the big bourgeois represent the world, and the animals. With their scale of comparison and strength.

There is more important as a subject, but it is a recent and characteristic example of a way of working and thinking.

How can a country like Japan continue to hunt whales when they know its important role in capturing carbon dioxide ? The Japanese have a museum dedicated to the whale, they do extensive research on this animal. Now that they are a country whose industrial activity generates significant pollution, how can they continue to do so against the environment ?

Traditions change. Otherwise the children would still be working in the mines at eight years old. Women could not work, etc. Norway’s attitude is also absolutely scandalous and unacceptable. It is the country that kills the most whales and for a very long time.

Carbon dioxide is an invisible gas, which is toxic to our breathing, trees capture and recycle it, so do whales. As the human population grows, and that of farm animals continues to grow, so does the level of carbon dioxide. We cannot do without whales, it is a big issue, every animal counts. This is very important, as is the preservation and development of primary forests.
